2011 ART-NeuroDevNet Biennial Winter Institute
Kids Brain Health Network (formerly NeuroDevNet) and the Autism Research Training (ART) Program joined to develop the first Biennial ART-NeuroDevNet Winter Institute, an exciting new trainee research and education workshop. The Winter Institute was held March 2-6, 2011 in Banff, Alberta.
For the Winter Institute, Kids Brain Health and ART developed sessions that explored commonalities in the study of neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as co-morbidities shared by many disorders. The program engaged trainees in interactive learning opportunities through guest lectures, poster sessions, and 'hot topic panels', while leaving plenty of time to network and enjoy the Banff area attractions. Our program appealed to young researchers interested in broader areas of neurodevelopmental disorders, in addition to those with an autism focus.
